What is Adult ADHD?
Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) is a neurodevelopmental disorder. The three key features of adult ADHD are: Inattention, Hyperactivity, & Impulsivity. Individuals diagnosed with ADHD often struggle with these three features in varying degrees.
ADHD or trauma?
There is no single test to diagnose ADHD and ADHD can have very similar presentations to childhood trauma and high anxiety.
The most robust way to assure diagnostic accuracy is to incorporate ADHD assessments into therapy. This approach then supports a holistic management plan to manage the diagnosis without medication. We would recommend 6 sessions plus one write up session for this approach. This would include a personal management plan and written report.
An ADHD assessment involves a number comprehensive assessments, psychometric testing and collecting additional data from a family member, long term partner or long-term friend. The data is then collated and analysed to see if you meet the diagnosis criteria for ADHD.
Please note - we do not prescribe medication

ADHD assessment
A test of cognitive ability (this part of the assessment must be completed in person). An ADHD information specific appointment, including the collection of psychometric data and an appointment with a family member or long-term friend and then finally a report feedback session.
You will receive a copy of the report for your record.
A stand alone assessment can be completed in one week.
An assessment incorporated into therapy would cost £630 (if booked on weekdays) or £700 if booked on evenings or weekends.
Please be aware, an ADHD assessment may result in you not meeting the criteria for ADHD.
Please be aware this assessment is diagnostic only and does not include any advice or prescription for medication.Book an appointment
